Sadness Abound (goodbye, farewell, au revoir, bon voyage, ciao) + good luck newbies!
This sanctuary is dying. I feel it in my heart, and it has caused me to even lose my "kitten/w frog hat" usual enthusiasm and cheeriness.
It pains me that I must venture out of this community, but what once was beloved now has an illness most terminal. A plague that infects not the people, no..........but it causes the walls to grey and die with it's cancerous touch.
I will leave with only my emotional baggage in hand, the kind that you find you're most fond of no matter how much the parasite of memories leeches on your very soul. It is the memories of the friends here. Yes, that includes even you SPAM. No matter how you protest you were a good friend. I'll carry with me the laughs. The glomps. The playful friend-stabbing. The zombifications. The hugs. The tears. I shall be most saddened by AANF Con.....I had been looking forward to trading smiles with everyone face to face.
Every empire falls I suppose. "Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky...." Though I'd only just begun here, I'd affectionately latched on like a homeless man to a free cup-o-Starbucks. To me, communities are like a big hug. Unfortunately this one has turned more into one of those grimacing half-hearted "I hardly remember you from high-school" sort of hugs. It lacks the comfort it once had.
Don't take this for irrational propaganda. It is what I feel I should say before I depart into the unknown and fade into it completely.
So I bid you farewell. This is to all. Everyone who knows me and everyone who'd not the chance to. To you I tip my hat and wish you the best of luck. It's the least I can do. I can only hope those who are left (nudge @ you newbies) will pick up the broken pieces and fit together an appealing mosaic of sorts. I love this place too much to have it looked upon with scorn and disgust. I'm going to go now and can only hope I will end up in a community that is just as lovely. If you find me a reason to come back, my AIM screen name is legoashley. I will not delete my account. I don't want to fade out and be forgotten so quickly. Someone will come along eventually and erase me from the grid. I leave you my ghost as I depart for the wilderness.
